I have not any luck getting him to take his antibiotic. He has been on the elavil for one month now: and his paw is wrapped. I want to know if you have a tip on getting some antibiotic into him? thank you earl h

dog eye cyst?
Posted on 2008/12/03 by Matthewi recently noticed what appears to be a cyst on the edge of my dogs eyelid. it doesn't appear to be bothering him, i.e. no scratching at or watering of eye. he is a lab mix breed of 3 1/2 yrs. & no history of cysts. any idea?

calcium oxylate stone removal surgery
Posted on 2008/12/05 by Usermy dog just had surgery to remove calcium oxylate stones about 3 weeks ago. she healed up nicely, and her attitude is great...she's active, eating fine, etc. However, she is still straining to urinate constantly! She walks and squats, and she is having accidents in the house. My doctor put her on Baytril (2nd round) after finding some bacteria over a week ago, but she isn't improving. Today, we did another U/A, and found some abnormal looking renal tubular cells, no bacteria, and 0-4 hpf RBC's. We sent it off to be cultured, but my concern is that it is something more serious? I am a CVT, and would love any suggestions, as my doctor is stumped as to what would make...

Death of my lab
Posted on 2009/01/23 by UserMy 12 year old lab died last night. Could you please help me with what happened? It started in the morning after his walk. He had trouble getting up my steps, not unusual. He was ovweweight and had leg and hip problems his whole life. When I brought him in the door he seemed to fall. He then lay down and stayed put for a while. A little while later he got up and moved to the rug. Thinking is was his hip, I covered him and put a heating pad on him for a while to make him feel better. He refused to get up to eat, but seemed to be resting comfortably. Moved around a little during the day and just rested. Dinner time came and he refused to eat. Still staying put in basically...
