Pain behavior
Posted on 2008/11/29 by UserMy dog has blood in his stool. He is skittish about meals and has to be spoon fed first. Just recently he had a haircut and hasn't been the same since. His stool is in small amounts. He has also become anti-social. He is a 2 year-old Maltese and weighs about 6 lbs.

cat question
Posted on 2008/11/29 by UserMy cat is 9 years old, indoor and I feed her Science Diet cat food. I hand raised her and her sister from about 30 minutes old. She has always had trouble finding the liter box except to urinate. It seems she doesn't have any warning and she often acts surprised when something pops out the other end. (sounds funny but its true). She has always had some blood and mucus in her stools. The first half of her stool is formed the second half is not. Being hand raised they were checked by the vet about every other week. When she was a teenager the vet checked out the blood and mucus problem and nothing was found to be wrong with her. Do you have any suggestions? Thank...

jellylike mucous stool with little blood...
Posted on 2008/11/29 by UserMy female chihuahua 5 months old and male chi 3 months old not related both had jelly like stool with drop of blood at the end. No diarrhea. Looked like mucous and fowl smelling. I gave Albon recommended for their body weight for 5 days. Now both of them are doing normal stools. I feed them quality dry dog food in morning and cooked chicken or beef at dinner. Could it have been parasites? What kind? I just started deworming them so I don't know if that is why the stools looked different. I had Albon which was used on rescue kittens who had loose diarrhea in the stools. Don't have these kittens anymore. Is there anything like a home remedy that you can use? ...

Kitten with lump on side
Posted on 2008/12/06 by UserI have a kitten around 3 months old; she is very playful and does not act sick in any way. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a hard bump under the skin on her left side. Today, she started biting at the spot and has pulled some hair out. The lump is smaller than it was originally and yellow puss is ozing out. I am taking her to the vet on Monday. What do you think?

very itchy
Posted on 2008/12/10 by UserMy dog who is so itchy does not have any type of mange, nor is he red and inflamed and has no ear problems. He does not lick his paws as is up to date on flea prevention as well as all vaccines. He does not have dermetitis or give any indication of being unwell. Just an intense itch at various places. So maybe as you suggesed it could be- an allergy. Going to your site for diet tips is hard, as so many sites come up and I have a dial up connection only. Can you tell me how to get right to the site I need to be at? Also, you indicated I could give Kao benedryl. The instructions say not to give if there is a chronic lung problem. Kao usually has difficulty breathing and...
