Okay to pet my sick, lethargic cat?
Posted on 2009/02/01 by UserMy cat is not feeling well at all. We've been to the vet twice. She's had IV fluids for dehydration, and an enema for constipation. We're beginning to think she has cancer in the abdomen. My question: My cat is lying quietly in a cabinet, on a mattress. Is it okay to pet her, or is it best I leave her to quietly rest? We had a two-hour vet outing tonight that I think exhausted and stressed her out. At the same time, I want her to know that I care and am here loving and supporting her. Right now I'm going to her cabinet and petting her for a minute or so every half hour. Maybe I should just leave her be? I don't know how sick she is, or if she's just really tired.

Feline Distemper Shot
Posted on 2009/01/31 by UserMy cat Minute got the FVRCP vaccine today and since I have brought her home she has not let me touch, pet or lay near her. Also when anyone approaches her or touches her she will growl and hiss (which she has never done in the 6 years I have had her). Is this behavior due to the vaccine and what can I do about it? I have not notice any change in her eating habits or bowel movements and she has not had any vomiting. I am just distressed by this behavior as she NEVER acts this way and is a cuddler. Please help!!
