  • hi. I took my 19 year old cat teddy to the vet yesterday because i noticed his breathing was loud and not at all normal. The vet said he had an abscess in his mouth which was infected and had spread to his throat. He gave teddy two injections, one was antibiotics and the other an anti inflammatory. He also gave 10 x50mg of clavaseptin which he told me to give him the first one today. We saw the vet 11am yesterday morning and teddy seemed to perk up no end but at 11.30 pm it seemed as if he was having real trouble breathing and he couldent go to sleep because he would lose his breath and he was frightened. I gave him his first tablet at 3am this morning and i wonder if you...

  • Knots around private area

My dog was walking thru the livingroom last night and let out a big bark, noone was around him at all. And he acted fine with no problems. When we awoke this morning, he was shivering in pain and whimpering and i noticed a knot on each side of his privates about the size of a nickel and round, closer to the backend. He does really well walking and stepping down/up. But cant jump. The pain comes and goes and once he gets relaxed with me laying down with him he stops the shaking. Is this something like a sprain or something i should have checked out immediately? Hes a 3 yr old Yorkie Terrior who is usually very hyper and playful and is now a very quiet doggie.

  • Eating Feces

I have a male yorkie who is 2 months old. I have noticed that he will pick up his feces and try to eat it. Is that normal or is that a sign he's getting sick?

  • Chronic Diarrhea

My 8 mo. old Rott has had frequent diarrhea since I got her at 8 wks. She's had several fecal exams, 2 rounds of flagil, tylan powder, and fortiflora with no improvement. I've tried her on perscription low-bulk food, but that didn't help. She is currently eating a chicken and rice dry food. My vet thinks that it is stress related, but can offer nothing that will help the situation. I can't even crate her anymore due to the diarrhea. Any suggestions?

  • I have three chiquhuas ranging in age from 10 years to 6 years old. They are all from the same mother. The mother of my three, supposedly had eczema. For the past couple of years, they have all scratched and bitten at their back, and tail and legs until they get sores. One of them also has a place on the inside of her ear (like a patch of dry skin) The vet says its just allergies and gives them depo shots, but the problem always returns within a couple of weeks. They bite so long that they are actually panting. Other than the shots, i have used fish oil, pure shea butter and an anti itch spray from walmart. Hotspot medication doesnt work and im not sure what else to do....
