Hello. I have a 10 year old Brittney Spaniel and within the last couple of days i've noticed that when he gets up from lying or sitting he will not put any weight on his left hind leg. Now once he has been up for a while he runs and jumps on it with no problem, but I mostly notice the trouble early in the morning and in the evening time. While he is outside during the day he's fine. Could it be arthritis or has he pulled a muscle? I have an appointment with the vet in 1 week. He still has a healthy appetite though. We live in Chicago and the temperature has dropped, so could the cooler weather affect it. Thank you for your time.

cat in catbox
Posted on 2008/10/14 by kimmy cat is 5 years old. we recently had to put his brother to sleep in june due to severe mega colon. I 'm not sure if what's been happening lately contributes to that or not...he doesn't always use the catbox to urinate. I 've taken him to 2 different vets over the last couple months. He peed on my bed and he pees right outside the catbox but sometimes goes into the box but when he comes out he scootes on the rug and continuously lickes himself after urinating. He has a hard time moving his back legs and will stand still for minutes, like a statue. This morning I cleaned up droplets of blood but there was olso pee in the box. The next minute my husband caught him peeing...
