I have a 7 year old large Chihuahua (18 lbs) who has always been in good health. Yesterday he started hacking and spiting out (not much). He is not vomiting, just hacking up. I checked for an obstruction and don't see one. He hacked on and off through the night and is obviously in some discomfort and as a result is insecure and wants to be held. He is still very active. He ran another dog out of the yard yesterday, so he is not lethargic as might be indicated from something poisonous he ate. Suggestions?

Nursing Dog

I thought it might be coccidia, so I gave her 1 dose of treatment for that. Should I be worried, what else could this be, and could it affect the puppies she is still nursing?

Diarrhea and vomiting
Posted on 2008/10/23 by UserI have a 1 1/2 year old yorkie. Yesterday when I arrived home from work (5:00pm) she had had diarrhea in her kennel. She then vomited clear, yellowish liquid 3 or 4 times from 5pm til 12 midnight. As far as I could tell, she was fine during the night. Then today she has had diarrhea, just little bits all day, liquid and has vomited about 3 more times, still clear-yellowish liquid. What should I do?

scratching/ hair question
Posted on 2008/10/23 by AmyI have a 5 yr old male german shep. I took him for a walk this evening and I noticed he was walking funny. He was kind of waddling or shaking his bottom. Then I noticed he had scratched/pulled the hair off the left side hip area by his tail. It looks like somebody shaved the area down. the hair is not completely missing but shorter than the rest of his coat. He is working on the other side as well. He has been scratching a lot lately. He desn't have flees and is generally in good health. What could his be?

I have a chaweey, thats what they call it. She is a year old now. Josey is very timid at times and she pees when you start to pet her. She chews on the edge of carpet and on the edge of pillows. She does know how to go out side, but sometimes she will go in the house. We have tried the crate, but she will go in her bed if crated. What can you suggest?
