Concerned

Rating: 9
Timber
Timber

Timber is showing the following symptoms: excess salivation, listlessness, not eating, he wants to be left alone where it's quiet. I don't have transportation to take him to the vet and he seems somewhat better today than he was last night, could you help me by telling me what I should be looking for to know he is okay?

he is probably salivating and not eating because he feels as though he is going to be sick, and he is lethargic because of this too. offer plenty of water so he does not dehysrate and if he doesnt want to drink try wetting his lips/gums or syringing some into his mouth. offer him some warm chicken or heat some of his normal food up a little bit, cats like food that they can smell, and by warming the food up it might encourage him to eat. if he appears lethargic for another 24 hours see if a vet would do a home visit. just let him curl up somewhere warm if he doesnt want to be fussed. check he is going to the toilet, he wont pass much if any faeces if he is not eating but check for blood or mucous. hope this helps.

Thank you very much. My daughter seems to think he could be showing signs of poisoning of some kind. Does this seem possible?

salivating could be a sign that he  has eaten something that doesnt taste very nice, check house plants to see if anything missing or anything else he might have eaten. look out for vomiting and diarrhoea as these are often signs of poisoning. although i would expect him to be getting worse not improving slightly.

Alright Samantha. Thank you very much! I so much appreciate your assistance. I have located a mobile vet that will come if I need them to check Timber. Again, thanks for this great service, especially for someone like me who is homebound. I will be forever grateful. God bless.
