Is it still actively bleeding?  Birds can not lose a lot of blood in general.  I understand that finances are a concern.  I would suggest doing what you are doing keeping it warm, and dry is a good start.  You might try phoning the vet that worked on your horse they might be able to work something out with you to get some care for the chicken.  It might need sutures if it is still bleeding and your chicken might need to be on antibiotics.  We also would put the bird on some pain medication made for animals.  I wish you the best of luck.

I am sorry you did not get a quick response. I understand your financial issue, but it is likely that there is or will be  a secondary infection setting in from the area where the flesh was torn. Veterinary intervention is the best option. Carole

thank you guys very much for your answers, i did call my vet (she was on an emergency) but i had her on antibiotics and pain meds, she had NO bleeding, wich i didnt understand why, but she passed on tuesday morning, i felt like i failed her because i should have taken her to the vet in the first place on that monday morning, but i thought that if she lived through the weekend and her eyes were openning then she would be alright untill my vet came to see my horse, but she didnt make it and the barn is not the same without her.
