my dog keeps scooting his butt across the carpet. why is he doing this and what can i do to make him stop?

he has either got worms so get a good worm treatment from your vets, you may see worms in the faeces 48 hours after treatment this is completely normal it is the dead ones being excreted, or his anal glands are full, wild dogs release the anal glands when they pass faeces to lay their scent however domestic dogs do not do this, a vet or nurse will be able to empty these for you, it can be very smelly!
