try starving your pet for 24 hours and feed a bland diet such as chicken and rice or white fish after that, little and often, always offer plenty of water. if your pet becomes lethargic then seek veterinary help. do you have plenty of litter trays in the house, ensure nothing has changed, eg a new neighbourhood cat that is making your cat scared to go outside or pass faeces in unusual places. if the diarrhoea has blood in it, contact veterinary practice, ensure your cat has not eaten any bones, or anything it shouldn't have.

I will try the starving. We have 3 cats. All of them are inside cats. She just started with this a couple of weeks ago so maybe she ate something she shouldn't have. The other 2 cats are fine. I would love to be able to take her to a vet but I just can not afford it right now. There has not been any blood in it, and I have seen her use the litter box which is why it is puzzling to me that she is messing on the floor in a few different places in the house.

the rules of litter trays should be 1 per cat plus 1 so you should have 4, this seems alot but you could try it at first then reduce them, check that your other cats are not picking on her when she goes to the toilet. you can seperate her while she is fasted for 24 hours or you can fast all 3 but they might all start going wild, good luck.

My wife did some looking around and she thinks she may have a small intestine blockage. I am beginning to wonder now myself because after really watching her closely, she gets in the box and tries to go. I see her straining but nothing happening. After a few times of her doing this she finally has a movement but it is lose. Seems like if it is lose, then why does she have to starin a few times before anything happens. If it is in fact a blockage, is there any home remedy for this? I want to take her to the vet but I just cannot afford it right now and I feel terrible, especially if she is hurting.

sounds like she is constipated, she will have a large piece of faeces that has probably got stuck which causes the rest to be loose. there is not much you can give at home as usually they would give an enema, try the bland diet or tuna in oil. the vets may be able to give you some liquid paraffin over the counter without you bringing her in to save you a consultation fee.
