I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD BASSETT HOUND SHE IS ACTING LIKE SHE IS COLD BY SHIVERING A LITTLE AND SHE IS GOING OUTSIDE TO PEE A LOT. SHE IS EATING AND DRINKING FINE AND ACTS NORMAL BESIDES THIS CURRENT PROBLEM.

    Do you think she is producing more urine or just urinating small amounts more frequently? If the latter, the most common reason is inflammation of the lower urinary tract e.g. cystitis, which might be accompanied by a fever. If she is drinking excessively and producing more urine she may be suffering from diabetes or other endocrine diseases, or liver or kidney problems. Either way, she should probably be checked out. If it's neither of these things, thereis a chance that it's a purely behavioural issue.
