American Bulldogs, as a breed, are known to have ear problems. They require cleaning on a regular basis (atleast 3 times a week). I would suggest checking with your veterinarian to make sure this is the case.  Others ear issues could range from a simple ear infection which would require a round of antibiotics or it could also be allergies.  Your veterinarian would do a simple ear swab to determine if there is infection.  Allergy testing can range from trying different types of hypoallergenic food to taking a blood sample and having it sent for testing to see exactly what your dog is allergic to.  Your regular veterianrian would be able to go into more detail on these options for you.
