my cocker spaniel has history of a hip problem, would it be ok to give her aspirin

I am afraid I am not a fan of asprin due to the higher chance of side effects ( bleeding and intestinal upset) and it also doesn't work that well.
I would rather people use glucosamine and chondroitin supplements like cosequin and get a presciption antiinflammatory from your vet if she needs extra pain relief. There are many products available that are much safer and more effective than asprin such as deramaxx, zubrin, previcox and metacam.
