Thank you for your response. I have an follow up question as well..so if my pet had an accident on my carpet and I scrubbed it carpet cleaner, but didn't use bleach, should I try and sanitize it a different way? will the giardia live in the carpet?

I am not quite sure. I would try to use alchol and call your reg vet..
