I took mattie to the vet for constipation and he thinks it is from what she stole and ate but could not answer my question. Mattie ate a half a bag of lemon halls cough drops and I need to know if that is what is making her sick

The nain concern with ingesting cough drops is a gastrointestinal upset such as vomitting and diarrhea. The dose of menthol in the cough drops should really not be enough to be toxic.

In terms of the signs you are seeing I would have expected the opposite of constipation so it may not be related unless the wrappers have all stuck together making constipation an issue ( however its probably unlikely that this would happen)

You can give canned pumpkin in her food. This is a natural laxative that is easy and gentle on their tummies. Big dogs I usually suggest a big tablespoon in each meal until they poop, and small dogs a teaspoon in each meal until they poop.

    Good luck

If she doesn't poop in another 24 hrs you should ask your vet as she may need an enema
