My neighbors dog

Rating: 5
Billy
Billy

I do not have any pets but my neighbors have a Beagle named Billy. They keep him outside and don't pay much attention to him and I noticed doesnt get much water. What do you recommend. Should I confront the owner or just call the humane society. I mentioned to the owner of the house that the dog needed water and he said ol that's my sons dog but the next day no water was added to his frozen bucket. I would like to take him and keep him/ But, my husband doesn't want pets. The neighbor just got the dog for hunting. I'd like to give him a big comforter to put in his igloo to keep him warm. It's been really cold here 17 - 26.

It can be upsetting if you feel that an animal is not being cared for adequately.  You have done right by talking to the owner first, but if you feel the situation has not improved it may be worth contacting an animal welfare society, they can then perhaps the visit the animal and check the conditions that the dog is being kept in, and offer advice at least to the owner.  At least then you can feel satisfied that the matter has been looked into.

    I hope this helps

It is often upsetting when someone who cares for animals sees people that don't seem to take care of their animals. I would talk with the owner and explain that you are concerned for the welfare of the animal. If you truly think it is a serious enough situation to call an animal welfare society then explain this to your neighbor. Tell them that if you do not see an improvment in the conditions of the animal's living area than you feel you might haft to go this road. If this doesn't get their attention it is probablly best for the animal to be removed but don't call in an animal welfare society untill you have first talked to the owner. Good luck, Lizzy
