what problems can i expect to have with a lab chow mix, one year old male who is not neutered. If i am going to take him to dog parks should i have him neutered

    Neutereing is usually a good idea unless you are planning on breeeding. Yes it is definitely a good idea to neuter if he is going to the dog parks as there could well be unspayed females there ( I would hope their owners would have the forsight to keep them away from a dog park though if they are in heat!).

    I usually tell owners that neutereing much later than 6 months of age wont really change their behaviour much as they have already learnt any potential sexually driven behaviours by then. So issues like urine marking is unlikely to change if your dog already does this. I would hope though that he should be calmer during exposure to other dogs especially at places like the dog park. Does he show any agression problems? or have any behavioural issues?

    No agression just playful lose to chase and be chased.

    Hmmm that kind of behaviour may not improve with neutering ( I would hope it would but there is no guarantee). Working on basic training is the best thing that will help with that kind of behaviour. Good luck
