Possible

My dog Sam, a Cairn Terrier & Toy Poodle mix, has been scratching/itching almost non-stop for the past couple of days and has a couple of raw spots. Is it a possible that he is having an allergic reaction or severe dry skin? He recently went to a new groomer and she used a different shampoo/conditoner/ flea medicine; we recently had a snowstorm. What can I do to stop the scratching/itching and what do I use to clean his wounds?

    Hi,

It can be lots of reason that your dog is itchy (e.g allergy, parasites, fungi, bacterial infection etc.)

If you can, go with him to the vet for skin examination.

He will probably need steroid to stop itchy, and antibiotic to prevent infection.

If you really can’t go right now, clean the wound with antiseptic (e.g IRRICLENS, or BETADINE – you can buy them online without prescription). You can also use very gentle antiseptic for people.

For stop itchy try DERMACOOL (also without prescription online)

Because he is itchy after visit in groomer (maybe allergy for shampoo or conditioner), you can give him bath in very gentle hypo-allergenic shampoo e.g SEBOMILD

If this will not help, I really recommend visit your vet.
