    Hi,

Lots of diseases can cause vomiting in dog, e.g kidney disease, liver or pancreas disease, food allergy, change in diet, infection (bacterial, parasitic or viral), toxins (chemicals, plants, drugs) etc.

First what your vet suppose to do is blood test for rule out liver, kidney or pancreas disease (for pancreas disease is very good cPL test – not always vet do this – you can ask).

If you bitch was not spayed, good if your vet also rule out also pyometra.

You can ask your vet also for x-ray or endoscope examination.

Is she up to date with worming and vaccinations?

If systemic disease are rule out, it can be assume that your dog have gastritis.

Don’t give her anything to eat during 24 hour, but make sure that she drinks lots of water (you can also ask your vet for electrolytes, which you dissolve in water and give your dog to drink)

After 24 hours you can try give her cooked rice with chicken (2/3 rice, 1/3 chicken),

very small portion but 5-6 times a day during 5-6days

If she stops drink water, contact your vet again, she can get dehydrated.
