Rating: 0

I RECENTLY SWITCHED MY 17 YEAR OLD POMERANIAN FOOD. SHE HAS A HARD TIME CHEWING HARD FOOD SO I SWITCHED HER TO SOFT. SHE LOVES IT BUT SHE IS THROWING UP AFTER EATING IT. SHOULD I GO BACK TO HARD?

Are the foods the same brand?  Often times if you switch dog foods, they will have diarrhea or vomit (it is common), especially if it was a quick switch.  What I would recommend is staying with the dry food that she was eating before and just adding water to it to soften it up.

If the vomiting continues after you go back to her normal food, I would bring her to a vet to have her evaluated.

Best of luck - Allison Williams, DVM
