Poodles can naturally have teary eyes which can lead to brown staining. A product called "Angel eyes" can help with that.
If his eyes don't normally tear, then he may have allergies, a corneal abrasion or something caught in his eye. You can try flushing them with sterile saline solution (without cleaner in it). If they're not better by tomorrow, I would suggest a visit with your vet.
