dog lump

my dog has a lump on one side of his body, near his ribcage, we just noticed this...what could it be

    Hi

    Can you attach a photo? Is it a skin lump or from under the skin? It could be any number of things from a benign lipoma or cyst that can be left alone to a malignant tumor that requires urgent excision.
