3 Feral cats. Mother and two kittens

Rating: 0

We made a nice cathouse out of foam and filled it with straw and a few small blankets. The cats were using it for awhile and then stopped going into it. Do you know why? Yesterday I cleaned it out and changed the straw and washed the blankets. I don't think they went into it tonight. Any suggestions.

The mother can sometimes find a better place (comfort, warmth, location) and will take her kittens there. You can try to make it a little more comfy for them, like adding toys and treats to the inside to kind of coerce them. Being that they are feral, it may take them a little bit of time to warm up to your smell and the smell of detergent on the blankets. Sometimes the house needs to acclimate to the environment.
