My cat has recently developed a gooey, clear (human snot looking) substance from her mouth. She seemed fine all day, but I found her sleeping in my room with this goo running from her mouth. She is sticking her tongue out slightly as well and it almost looks like she is struggling with it. Its thick, smelly, and she has licked it on different places of her body causing the fur to harden slightly in those areas. Also her nose is dry an she has no energy. I know something is wrong and I'm worried. What is wrong with her?

Veteran Advisor Helen Fines says:
It sounds like she has a mouth lesion- it could be dental disease, an injury, foreign body or tumour. How suddenly it started would be a guide to the cause. It sounds as if there is some infection there from the smell. Is she managing to eat? I think she is going to need to be examined by a vet as she sounds as though she is quite sick. Please let us know how you get on.
