The average litter size is 5 or 6 so to only have 1 is unusual. There's no need to give her any special food supplements, but make sure she has ad lib access to her usual diet and plenty of fresh water. Keep an eye on her in case she has more babies to come.

I took the dad out because he was to much of a distaction, I disided that when she left the baby alone in its bed/house. I was wondering if that was the right thing to do? Do you think that the baby was born early, and there is more in the bed now or more on there way? Thanks, Erin

Quite likely there may be more hidden away in the bedding. The best thing is not to interfere- if she doesn't mother them properly there is nothing you can do, but to intervene increases the chances of problems.
