sick dog ??????

I reacently adopted her, 2-8-08, she had just come out of heat a couple of week earlier, then she was spayed, she had also spent the previous weekend at the vets office for diharea. There she was treated for whip worms. I took her to my vet yesterday and she had her stitches removed. The rest of the day when we came home she wouldn't eat. She just slept all day. Then this morning she started to act as if she was going to vomit and she threw up a lot of flim. I didn't know if this behavior is do to the rought last few weeks she's had or at what point should I be concerned? Thank you for your help. Corinne Riggs

    It may well be she if feeling run down ,however the vomiting must stop and return to normal.

    Please feed a bland diet (chicken and rice , bolied fish) for 3-4 days. If there is no improvement please take her to her vets for a check over and express your concerns to the vet (thats what they are there for)

    The worry may well be a secondary infection from the operation she had, however this is unlikley as she has her stiches out now and everything should be healing nicley.

    The worry with vomiting is that they can become dehydrated, please ensure that she is eating and drinking (please measure water intake) 50ml of water per kilo gram of body weight they require per day, but over half this amount is classed as normal intake.

    Thanks so much for the input. The problem with feeding her is she wont eat eather. I took her to the vet this morning and they said there is a 100 reasons why dogs vomit. They seemed to thing she would be ok. They said she's prob. under alot of stress or maybe cought a bug. I didn't realize dogs could get sick like we can. They gave me an antibiotic to give her along with a med to make her stop vomiting. Thanks again for the input. Corinne Riggs
