second opinion

Rating: 0

Need a second opinion- my 10 year old lab was diagnosed with auto immune and put on prednisone- she is sick all the time now- vommits several times a day. She eats a lot and she seems miserable- seems like she cannot swallow- no heartworms per vet- xray showed food buildup in stomach and she seems like she coughs a lot so they gave her antiobotics- they want to wean her off pred but I am wondering is it stomach related instead of auto immune- she is so pitiful and her quality of life is eat, throw up and sleep- thanks!!

If it is an auto-immune disease, they usually respond very well to pred.  What auto-immune disease was diagnosed?  What tests were performed and what were the results.  It sounds like there may be something else going on or your dog needs stronger immunosupressive meds if there is an auto-immune condition.
