We have a 7 mos. old chihuahua and her eyes tear a lot. She was recently fixed. First pet ever, any answers?

There can be many reasons for tearing. Are the eyes red or irritated, is she squinting too? I take it the tearing is just clear ( no green color or goopiness)?
A common reason for this is small dogs can be a slight inturning of the lower eyelid near the nose area and it causes a slight tear overflow that is usually of little significance ( rarely is it severe enough to warrant surgery). Other possibilities include, allergies, infections, irritations, anatomical eyelid problems and blocked tear ducts.
Your vet should be able to find the cause by a phsical examination.
