Dogs back leg is very swollen, entire leg is blood red and she is limping

So its Christmas Eve and all vets are closed so I need help w/out utilizing an actual vet until Friday. My chihuahua who is an indoor dog was limping yesterday when I came home. As the night progressed it became increasingly swollen. She went from limping to not walking on it at all. I moved it all directions and she doesnt yelp or bark or seem in much pain, more upset and annoyed b/c she cant use her leg. The swelling is very hard to the touch. Today the whole leg is now a very dark red and is spreading to her stomach. Doesnt look like a rash though, just blood red. What do you think this is and what should we do? It is possible she jumped down from stairs or furniture and hurt leg and she does go outside to use the restroom. However we have had nothing but snow outside so bugs I think would be limited.

I hope you brought your dog to the vet or called an emergency veterinary center.  This certainly needs medical attention.  My guess is that it is an infection.

got the same thing for my dog - but I am low on money so I can't bring my dog to the vet. Please advise what is the best thing to do at this given situation. Thanks.
