strange behavior

my rabbit is not doing so well. he has this wierd head tilt going on and the eye on the side of his head that is facing the ground is pinkish on the edge and i think its swollen shut because he doesn't open it. i love my rabbit with all my heart and i need help. i'd take him to a vet but we don't have money... please help!!!

    Hi

    Your rabbit could have several things going on here. If the eye is swollen shut then he either has an infection there (conjunctivitis) or a blockage in his tear duct. The head tilt could be related to that, or it could be a neurological protozoal parasite called Encephalozoon cuniculi. All these things are easily treated but only with prescription medicines so you will have to take Thumper to the vet I'm afraid.
