    Hi

Your guinea pig either has an eye infection, or an abscess behind her eye. Unfortunately there aren't any home remedies to recommend, a course of antibiotics is probably necessary.

There are a couple of things you can try. Vitamin A or E are sometimes used for eye problems in guinea pigs. Take a capsule and pierce it with a pin, then squeeze a little into the eye, 3 times per day. Sometimes that will help. If not and you aren't able to take the animal to a good vet, there is an eye ointment called Terramycin, available over the counter at feed stores in the US. Use a small amount 3 times a day. Make sure your hands are clean before you treat the eye. Squeeze a small amount and gently massage it in. If it works it should start looking better within 2 days. If it doesn't then a vet is going to be required.

If you can't go to the vet, dab the eye with luke-warm water every night before you go to bed. Do you keep it in the cage all the time?? 'cause if not, it might just need some freedom and attention. but dab the eye and keep us posted. Watch how it is feeling as much as you can and how it's behaving. Good Luck!!!
