picked up the puppy today and now we noticed that his eye is like crying and he is having trouble keeping it opened

It's quite common for dogs this age to get mild eye infections, so that's probably all this is. However if you can check there isn't anything stuck under the lids, and check it's not cloudy or very red, that will help to put your mind at rest about it being something more serious. If you can keep bathing the eye with cool tap water Sammy may well fight off the infection, but if it doesn't look better within 24-48h you will probably need to see a vet for some medication.
