Sensitive stomach

Rating: 9
Natasha
Natasha

I have 4 cats. Natasha, 15, and Stanley, 6, often have foamy vomit. Natasha does have periodic fur balls that can be 3-5 inches long. I have never seen Stanley bring up a fur ball. Natasha throws up almost everday. She is a little cat around 7 lbs. Stan is a large cat around 15 lbs. What may cause their stomach problem?
Thank you. Marlene

Hi there, there are a couple of main causes of intermittent vomitting in cats.  One is furballs and the other is inflammatory bowel disease.  If they are well otherwise and there is no blood in the vomit, you can try a cat laxative for furballs, and science plan make a furball diet. Also regular grooming of the coat may help.  There are sensitive stomach diets thay may help with IBD and feeding of small, frequent meals may be preferable to big meals.  If the vomitting has started recently, or if there are other signs such as weight loss or lethargy, there may be a different underlying disease that may need veterinary attention and investigation.  Good luck with the cats!
