My dog seems to have a red spot on the white area of his left eye, what is it?

Does your dog seem painful with this? or rubbing or squinting the eye?
There could be many reasons for this.... a hematoma ( or bruise) often from a trauma, conjunctivitis ( inflammation), foreign body, tumor (however this would be very unlikely) or a scratch or irritation.
Your vet will be able to see what it is from a physical exam and eye exam. The chances are that if he isn't bothered by it and is improving then it is nothing to worry about it. However if it is persisting and he is bothering the eye or seems in discomfort then it would be best to get him checked out.
Good luck
