We just adopted 2 cats from a shelter on Sunday. They are sneezing and one has a yellowish nasal discharge which is kind of thick. Both are eating, drinking, playing, and breathing normally. Please advise us on what to do.

Symptoms: Sneezing

Sounds very much like cat flu!! Mild cases will resolve in a few weeks but more severe cases may need treatment with or without hospitalisation.  If they are well otherwise, you can clean the discharge with boiled (cooled) water, keep them isolated from other cats and indoors (this is a contagious disease!), and ensure they are taking in plenty of food and fluids.  If it doesnt start to improve in a few days, or if there is any deterioration such as lethargy, reduced appetite, breathing problems etc, I would advise taking them to a vet as they may ahve a fever and can dehydrate very quickly.  Also, please get them vaccinated as soon as possible after they are completely better.  Good luck!
