Bogey just got a really deep cut on his front pad of his foot, i have been putting some antibiotic cream on it and trying to keep it wraped...now it's been 4 days later and he is starting to favor that foot, although no swelling has shown yet. do i need to take him in, or will this heal on it's own?

Symptoms: Pain

Hi there, I would suggest that you take him in to be examined.  If the cut is deep it is probably quite painful and the very least you may get out of a vet visit is some pain relief for him (it is not safe to use most of the pain meds we use on dogs).  The wound may be infected, even if there is no obvious swelling and he may need antibiotics, surgical debridement etc.  Also, I'm not sure exactly where the wound is on the foot but there may be a possibility that there is underlying damage, ie to muscle or bone.  Good luck!
