Vomiting

Rating: 7

My Pekingese is vomiting something that looks like his bowels and smells like it, too. He has done this tonight and one or two other night. Tonight he cried and I took him outside. He never goes out at 2AM, nor does he ever cry. He seemed to have had a difficult time having a bowel movement. He is old. When we got him he was 8. We have had him for about 5 years, so that would make him 13. Do you think he dying?

It's difficult to assess how serious this condition is, but his age means it is more likely to be serious than a younger dog with the same symptoms. He could simply have a stomach/intestinal infection, but it sounds as though he is some discomfort or pain. As it has been going on for a couple of days at least, it would be a good idea to get him to the vet to be examined. Even if you didn't want alot of diagnostic tests done, he would benefit from some symptomatic treatment and it would put your mind at rest too. Good luck!
