Weird mouth issues

Rating: 9

My cat is licking her mouth a lot. She act very skidish when you approach her and I've caught her with her tounge hanging out several times this evening. She's also slobbering some. Her nose is warm and she seems to be trying to sleep it off. Any thoughts?

This sort of behaviour usually indicated a problem with the mouth- a dental problem, an injury or foreign body, something like that. Sometimes an open mouth with tongue out indicates severe breathing difficulties- it sounds as though this isn't the case for her, but do observe her breathing just to check it out. If you can get someone to hold her still, try and open her mouth and have a good look around- there should be some indication of what is happening.
