my cat has a fever and ears are hot and drive him crazy. I think there is swelling behind the ears. I started him on a broad band antibiotic. I think it helped his fever but his ears still hurt.

How high is his temperature? If he has heat and swelling some anti-inflammatories might be indicated. It's hard to be more specific without knowing the cause of the pain and swelling. Does he have any injuries? If he is scratching them alot he may have had an allergic reaction to something.
