my dog has a dark wax build up in her ears that I cant seem to get rid of,help?

    Hi again, sorry could not answer you last question as you had already accepted it.

    If there is only dark wax and no pus, and she does not seem too itchy or the ears dont look red/inflamed, you could try and just clean them out with the ear cleaner. This can be bought at the vets over-the-counter, here in the UK we use epiotic or leo ear cleaner, but there are many other brands out there. There should be instructions on the bottle how to do it, you need to squirt the cleaner deep into the ear canal, and then massage the ears from the outside (over the ear cartilage). Firstly I would clean them every day for a week, then every second day for a week, then every week and then every 2nd week continuously. If left alone this could lead to a serious ear infection that does require veterinary attention, in some cases the whole ear canal needs to be removed surgically (extreme cases..)
