Rating: 10

I've noticed that my cat had a patch of fur missing a few weeks ago with a cut and thought it was from a fight. Now she has 2 big open wounds and from her mid stomach to back legs, has no fur. The fur dissapearing and the open wounds are making me nervous. Any ideas?

Symptoms: Wounds

Sounds like she has been fighting , however if cats fight the most common injury and illness as a result of this are cat bite abcess. These are because the bacteria on the cats teeth. If these are unotived then they swell and eventually burst causing open wounds - this will require cleaning twice a day (salt water warmed) and a course of antibiotics

The other possibility is that it could be a parasitic infection - again this will need diagnosing and the proper course of treatment offeres.

I would definaltley advise a trip to the veterinary surgeon to clean these and a course of antibiotics. If the wounds become infected then other illness begin  - high temperture , not willing to eat, vomiting, etc...

It is best you have your cat checked in the mean time i would keep her in doors.
