My 11 year old female black lab has been sneezing, sometimes uncontrollably, the past 2 days. She seems to also have a fever. Do dogs get colds and if so, should they be taken to the vet for treatment?

Dogs can get colds, but it is very uncommon to be able to reconise the symptoms of one. The fever and sneezing may be something else.
1- A foreign bodie can become dislodged in the nasal cavity (grass seed, cat hair etcc) and cause stimualtion in the nose and also increase temperture (body temp) due to the inflammation process.
2- A viral infection
3 - Bad dental hygenie (Root tooth infection ) can sometimes tract up to the nasal cavity -please have her teeth checked and the infection can cause high temp. and even runny eyes
Please take her to the vet for a examination she is probally due a health check anyway with her age.
Hope i helped.
