There are lots of things that can cause coughing in dogs, including respiratory infections, heart disease, damage or obstruction of the throat by a foriegn body....to name a few. I notice your pup is only 3 mths of age. How long have you had her and how long has the coughing been going on? Is she bringing anything up when she coughs? Is she unwell in any other way? Has her appetite changed? Is she still playful? Is there any way you can find out if the other pups of the litter or the mum are affected? Is she vaccinated? Sorry to answer a question with a bunch of questions, but if you give me a little more detail I can reply again.  If your pup is lethargic or her appetite has decreased, I would strongly suggest taking her to a vet asap. Good luck!

She is still very playful and she is at her normal. When she coughs it seems like she has something stuck in her throat as if it is a fur ball or something. It seems like her cough is something that you would find a cat doing not a dog. She is still payful and eating well. I really did not notice this until she got vaccinated last week. This just may be something that she does.

Possible, or it could be mild damage by a toy/stick, or a respiratory infection called kennel cough. If she is well otherwise, I suggest you keep a close eye on her and if she has not improved in a week or so, then take her to a vet.
