I have 5 month old Black Lab & German Shephard mix puppy with such bad growing pains in her rear legs that she won't even walk or stand and lays on her bed whining. She is also running a fever. what should i give her for pain other than the 57mg previcox pills at 1 1/2per day? Or is their a home remadie that I should know about?

Your best bet is to get her to a vet ASAP. They will be able to see what is going on with her. Puppies dont have growing pains. They should be able to walk and stand with no problems. Get her to a vet. Hope this helps. Please rate this answer. AMY

we did take her to the vet & they did have a name for the growing pains but i can't pronounce or spell it. 1st they thought something was wrong with her lower back or pelvis & did xrays & found nothing. the pain med.s they gave her were not enough to keep her comfortable & it seemed to get worse so i brought her back to the vet & she was examined by another vet & she thought she may have fractured a growth plate someplace that it wasn't showing up on xrays, she said sometimes they can't see it until it heals which could take up to 6 weeks so the vet gave her some tramadol 25mg to take with the previcox for pain. they really don't know for sure what is wrong. I wondered if this could have anything to do with her getting into the composte bucket for the garden which had coffee grinds, potatoe skins and egg shells in it? Any ideas? This is crazy having to carry this 35lb lab outside everytime she has to go potty. please help her..

The composte shouldn't have anything to do with it. I haven't seen anything like what you are describing before. I hope she gets better and I hope you get answer soon as to what she has. Good luck and happ holidays. AMY
