We have a 6 yr old neutered male Maltese. His symptoms were red blotches around his body, dark diarrhea, blood in urine, loss of appetite and lethargic. Vet did blood tests and recommended we take him to specialist/hospital, so we admitted him immediately. He is currently on cortizone/prednizone? ... attempting to stop his immune system from attacking his own blood cells. We are waiting. I'm communicating to you "Thanks" for your comments to Zoe (9 yr old retreiver with Thrombocytopenia). Your comments are comforting during our difficult time.
