Hello, personally i think that there is no difference in organic to the commercial that would benefit the health of the animal. A bad diet can not cause cancer in dogs. The organic choice is probally more for the owners peace of mind to think that they are doing the best for their pet. If you think back to wild dogs and their diet, they used to and still do feast on meat via hunting but also ate the stomach and its contents of the animal they have hunted. Granted they have a shorter life span but only a matter of years and this is probally due to bones that they chew on rather than a bad diet.
I would recommend a complete dry diet such as pedigree chum, hills , chappie, james welbeloved, iams etc..
There is no need to supplementate this with protein or vitamins etc. Complete means complete, no additions nessasary. I do not recommend a organic diet but also do not , not recommend it. As long as the pet enjoys the food and it is of good qualiity (your local vet can recommend or stick to one of the above i have stated) and the animal is fit and well and not overweight then a complete dry diet fed twice a day (measured amounts please!) then there is no negative or positives about the diet.
I don not know enough about organic foods to fully support using them but am confident in advising complete dry diets such as the better brands (hills, iams, james webeloved, purina )
Hope i have been of help
