Where the vet does an exam starting at the head checking the eyes ears nose mouth teeth lymph nodes under jaw at base of neck. Then palpates the throat feels for any lumps on the chest area listens to heart and lungs then palpates the abdomen and feels for the pulses in the groin area and then palpates the lymph nodes on the back of the rear legs. Then lifts tail and make sure ther are no lumps around the anus. That is why it is called a head to tail exam. Hope this helps please rate my answer. AMY

thanks, dr. amy. you have really helped us a lot ! My dog's name is Sheba, and she is a 50 lb. pitbull that thinks she's a 5 lb. baby. She is very gentle, and we can tell she just doesn't feel good. so, to the local vet we go tomorrow. thanks, again.
