I have a female German Shepherd Dog and she's 6 months. I took her to get her 3rd set of shots recently and the doctor did not weigh her but said she looked to be approx 50-70lbs. She is currently eating Pedigree and I give her 3 cups, twice a day. Am i giving her the correct amount and also, Is her weight normal for a 6mth puppy. She seems to be a little bigger than i was told she'll be. How big can the females get?

They can in theory get up to around 80lb, but most are smaller. Weight isn't a very good guide, as there is variation between individuals- i only use weight as a guide to progress in an animal which is aiming to lose or gain weight. A better guide is to get used to their physical condition- you should be able to feel the ribs but not necessarily see them in a GSD. The same applies to quantity- what's right for one dog is too much for another, so if you think the dog is underweight, feed more, and vice versa, on a daily or weekly basis. The manufacturer's guide is just a starting point. Hope this helps..
