Ball Python

Hi,
I got a baby ball python about 3 months ago. Over the past few weeks I've noticed that he hasn't been his normal self. He's no where near as active as he once was and has yet to completely shed after 3 weeks. I know that pythons are nocturnal but I've noticed that even at night he doesn't come out of his hide box. I noticed wrinkles in the skin towards the head and thought this was a sign of dehydration. The temp and humidity in the terarium is where it should be however and he is still eating and drinking. What should I do?

This website is a great blog regarding Ball Python shedding.  It covers good and poor shedding situations and how you may prevent them.  If Things don't improve, check with your local pet store and find a veterinarian that deals with reptiles... Ball Pythons are very sensitive to many things/situations and the stress alone can lead to poor health.

All the best for you and Blanket

It may be that he is in the shedding process. If he stops eating this is another sign of shedding. Don't handle him in case he is shedding. Good Luck, Gabriella
