my dogs tumor

On my dogslab work it says high grade malignant mammary gland carcinoma.A small portion of this tumor includes both glandular elements and stromal myoepithelial cells, and features of the tumor in these areas are consistent with an intermediate to high grade malignant carcinoma. However, the significant majority of the tumor parenchyma consists of pleomorphic mesenchymal cells forming haphazardly arranged interlacing streams and bundles, with extensive areas of intratumoral necrosis, hemmorrhage and mixed inflammation. This mammary carcinoma has features of an aggressive malignancy, as the specimen was recieved partially sectioned, assessment of the surgical margins is affected;tumor tissue appears to extend to the deep margin, and to within 0.4 cm of the closest lateral margin in the examined section. How would you recommend proceeding considering this information. My vet has recommended supplements and gives her a 50/50 change of survival. What is your opinion given tis information.

I would unfortunatley have to agree with your vets opinion. I would also suggest getting a 2nd opinion just so you have more than 1 vets opinion sometimes there are newer meds or procedures that can be done but not every vet is always updated on the newest options available. Hopefully this helps. It is a hard thing to go through even more so around the holidays. You have my sympathy.
